习坎名师
湖北省沙市中学首届“习坎名师”评选结果
经学校学术委员会认真评选，校长办公会研究决定授予高俊、赵五艺、吴祥成、张志礼、吴本萍、
张俊、肖述友、何新建、徐善慧、黄祥州、刘志国、龚少清、李成凤(资深班主任)、黄发桂(资深班主
任)、李景鑫（特级教师）、周琼（特级教师）等16名教师为湖北省沙市中学首届“习坎名师”。
欢声笑语齐聚体育馆，庆祝第二十二个教师节
2006年9月10日，我校在体育馆举行庆祝第二十二个教师节暨迎新联欢会，全校3000多名师生参加
了联欢会，大会表彰了湖北省沙市中学首届“习坎名师”、“优秀班主任”和第十九届“习坎系列
奖”，同时给全校师生献上了一台精彩的演出。

My name is Katy McIntosh and I'm from the United States. I live in the state of
Minnesota (home of the NBA team the Minnesota Timberwolves.) I graduated from the
University of Minnesota in 2002 with a double major in International Business and
Spanish, and a minor in Chinese. I really like to play sports, and my favorite sport is
soccer. In the U.S., I played on two different soccer teams. I also like to play
tennis, golf, hockey, and almost every other sport. I like to watch the NBA (especially
the Timberwolves), and my favorite NBA player is Kevin Garnett. In my free time, I also
like to read, sleep and travel.
Before I came to Jingzhou, I taught English in Beijing and Shiyan (Hubei province.) So
far I really like Jingzhou and Shashi Middle School. I think it is a pleasant city and
I like being by the Yangtze River. The school is very nice and the students seem
intelligent.
This is my second time in China. During my third year of college (in 2001), I lived in
Beijing for 6 months and studied at Beijing Language & Culture University. I wanted to
come back to China because I am very interested in China's history and culture. Plus I
wanted to improve my Chinese. After living in Beijing, my Chinese was quite good, but
then I didn't speak it for several years and I forgot a lot. So now I am learning
Chinese again. It's so important to speak a language everyday or else it is very easy
to forget. I hope all the students will try to practice English every day, with their
classmates, other teachers, or even by themselves.
I am very happy to be at Shashi Middle School and I hope to have a good year. I also
hope that I can help the students improve their English, which may allow them to achieve
their dreams of going to a good university, finding a good job, or going
abroad.
